So my wife and I are trying to plan our first vacation along with our kids (2yrs&4yrs) and my mother in law (babysitter lol). We have pretty much decided that we want to go to the Gulf Coast. When i was a child we had family on the east coast of fl (daytona/new smyrna) and i liked it but my family says the beaches are really looking pretty crappy now days. since we have kids, i dont want the location to be to crowded with drunk college kids (we plan to take the vacay before or after college spring break). The location needs to have resturants (sp?) within walking distance of the hotel. And speaking of hotels, we want ocean view price really doesnt matter. So if you have any experience with beaches on the gulf coast (besides TX) let me know. I really want this vacation to be a great one we really could use sometime away from work and our town.
